System requirements
- An operating Pelican system with a gateway and access to the Pelican web application for pairing.
Limitations & exclusions
- Does not switch heating or cooling equipment directly.
- Does not repeat wireless mesh signals.
- RT2 is a different generation; its specifications do not establish RT1-DC compatibility.

- Record the installed master-controller model and confirm its RT1-DC pairing instructions in the installation guide.
- Check the remote-sensor count and averaging setup; the cataloged limit is eight remote sensors per master thermostat.
Installation & configuration details
- Mount on an interior wall away from sunlight, drafts and local heat sources. Confirm the wireless connection during setup; this battery model does not repeat mesh signals.
- Configure pairing, weighted temperature averaging, keypad lockout and setpoint limits through the Pelican system.

The RT1-DC adds a room temperature-sensing and adjustment location without requiring wired power. Its reading can be weighted with other sensing locations to control a shared space. Keypad lockout and setpoint limits help manage occupant adjustments, and a low-battery notification prompts service.

The RT1 webpage and datasheet differ on the upper ambient operating temperature. That value is withheld pending model/revision confirmation. RT2 is a separate generation; do not substitute its specifications for RT1-DC.
