Wireless Thermostat Retrofits
Review options for relocating room control or sensing when existing thermostat wiring limits the installation.
A poorly placed thermostat or limited cable can make a replacement more complicated. Wireless equipment communication and remote temperature sensing offer different ways to address those constraints.
Choose the appropriate approach
- Separate room thermostat and equipment module: the PRO1 T755WHO PROsync system uses wireless communication between these devices. Equipment wiring terminates at the module, which needs its own power supply.
- Keep two thermostat power wires: the Prestige IAQ YTHX9421R5085WW kit uses two wires for thermostat power and RedLINK communication to its included equipment interface module.
- Add a room sensing location to Pelican: the battery-powered RT1-DC communicates with compatible Pelican controls. It does not directly switch heating or cooling equipment; the master controller and gateway remain part of the system.
Before selecting
Confirm the equipment stages, existing conductor count, module power, and installation locations. Review wireless placement and pairing requirements, especially around metal enclosures. Choose accessories from the exact supported system: PROsync, RedLINK, and Pelican components are not interchangeable.
A Wi-Fi thermostat may still require conventional control wiring at the wall. Check whether the proposed product replaces the control cable, moves only the sensing point, or provides Internet access to an otherwise wired thermostat.
