Find controls for conventional heating and cooling, from single-stage systems to multistage equipment.
Conventional systems use separate heating and cooling calls. The thermostat must match the furnace or air handler, cooling equipment, and fan-control arrangement. The equipment's fuel type alone is not enough to select a replacement.
Product options
The PRO1 T701 provides non-programmable, single-stage heating and cooling control. The T705 adds scheduling for single-stage equipment. For conventional multistage equipment, the T715 provides up to two heating and two cooling stages.
The PRO1 T755WHO separates the room thermostat from its equipment module. The Prestige IAQ kit also uses an equipment interface module and supports additional configuration options. Review each complete system when existing wiring or accessory controls are part of the project.
The listed White-Rodgers and Sensi controls add documented conventional-system options. Compare each model’s stage count, power method and scheduling: the Easy Set 1F86EZ-0251 uses temperature presets, while the 1F80-0261 provides 5+1+1-day scheduling. Historical support literature does not establish current manufacturing or a drop-in replacement.
Before selecting
- Identify each heating and cooling stage and the existing thermostat's terminal labels.
- Confirm whether the heating equipment or thermostat controls the fan during a heating call.
- Check the supply voltage, available common conductor, and whether separate heating and cooling transformers are present.
- Decide whether local adjustment, daily scheduling, or remote room sensing is needed.
Equipment using a proprietary communicating control needs its own compatibility review. A conventional thermostat is not automatically a replacement for a communicating thermostat.
